"the RPG Movie" is Fully 3D Animation Feature done by great talented Filipinos. The movie is produced was produced by Star Cinema and ABS-CBN. The story goes, about a young boy who was addicted to MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) or simply Online Games. Like most young filipinoes do when their classes done.
When I first saw the trailer I gave it already "a Big Thumbs UP!". All I can say it's a big "WHOA!" this is a what I called a high quality based animation done by filipinoes. A truly world class. More than a Pixar movie (I think so).
A big one leap for many of us filipinoes for having quality animations and give us an inspirations for many of us animators and for all of us.
The trailer was first release and watched by those who attend LEVEL UP! LIVE 2008 at Manila.

OBVIOUSLY this review was made by a filipino.
the quality looks good, but not pixar or dreamworks level.
It's all about the story and plot and how well the story is told. not the visuals.
So far, movies from philippines has been lacking that for decades.
but hey, here is hoping

Yes, the upcoming First Full-Lenght 3D Animated Film In The Philippines 'The RPG Movie' is already official. ABS-CBN Film Productions and Ambient Media already signed the contract and it will be shown this year 2010.

hey, i heard somewhere that the outfit who made this ("thaumatrop" animation?) was made up of only a handful of people? jeez, thats why it took them this long... but i hope this one really pushes through... LET'S SUPPORT THE FILIPINO TALENT!!!
